Happy Vincent Van Gogh - Starry Starry Night (day)

Year seven art this term looked at Vincent Van Gogh, the way that his lines create movement. We studied the way he painted and try to recreate this with oil pastels, while changing the mood of the painting. Here are a few examples of my year seven artworks that demonstrated their interpretation of Vincent's famous artwork In his style and their colours.

2013 Art room

With the commencement of 2013, my art-room started with bare walls, my classes are slowly starting to make it more like an art gallery as the term progresses.

Shoes and Apps.

Once we took photos some of us played with different apps to get different affects here is some of my examples... More to come from the students. MY favorite is Super-photo which I did these examples with.

iPads in the (art) classroom

Using the iPads and their own devices, my students had fun photographing shoes for their next painting/collage. We are looking at shoes and their personalities, what does each shoe say? What sort of personality does your choice of shoe have, what are you trying to say about that shoe, it's colour and your message about that shoe. These are the sorts of questions I have asked my students to think about while photographing shoes and collecting/drawing on images of shoes in readiness for their paintings.

This was this weeks lessons with my year nine students who had a great time photographing our Principals collection of shoes.

Slice of goodness - year eight.

Year eight students are starting their large scale pastel drawings, the focus being colour and texture. We started the project taking photos using a digital device, including iPad's, phones and cameras. Some students photos are already a piece of art... Examples are a few of my photos of students compositions.

Is has been asked of students to use any accessible art program to 'play' with their photos manipulating the colour and texture. Below are few Examples I made using some of my favorite iPad apps.
